Barin Field hosted it's first camp in the mid 70’s. There were wooden barracks on the property used for the boy’s dorm and a brick building used for a tabernacle/kitchen. After a fire of the tabernacle/kitchen building and the wooden barracks not being habitable, Barin Field went dormat for about ten years.
In the 90’s the churches of the West Florida Association voted to start working on the property to build a camp. They rented tents from the Naval Base in the 90’s to have camp. They had an outdoor kitchen, hooked up hoses to take showers and rented Port-A-Potties. The first metal building dorm was finished in June of 2002 and is now the girl’s dorm. A reposed single wide trailer was donated by a local company for the boys to sleep in. The boys metal dorm was finished in the mid to late 2000’s and the latest tabernacle/kitchen building was finished in 2019.
